Shilajit is a natural, tar-like resin that oozes from rocks in mountainous regions, particularly in the Himalayas, Altai, and Caucasus mountains, as well as in Tibet and the Gilgit-Baltistan area of Pakistan. It is formed over centuries by the gradual decomposition of plants and organic matter due to microbial action and extreme environmental conditions.
